COLORS :

1) Colors make a huge difference in our lives ... and play a vital role in designing. Please make the colors compliment each other. Always make sure that you first place the ground color that you want before starting your illustration or designing.

2) Lesser the color you use on the design better it is. From the production quality point of view, please make sure to use only the necessary colors - too much coloring makes the print heavy and not fun to wear.

3) From production quality point of view, it’s always better to make the artwork in flat tone i.e. no halftone and no gradients. Flat colors always make the design sharper and can even bring out depth if used wisely.

Design :

1) Try to keep the design simple and interesting. If the design carries some meaning or has a concept, it looks better and attracts people.

2) While simplicity is appealing, detail in a design is very important. Make the design as detailed as possible - intricate, like something which is made in heaven.

3) Placement of the design on a t-shirt also plays a very important role. A slightly eccentric placement of the graphic can make the design very interesting. For e.g. if you have a design which is vertical, then i would like you to try it off centre ... sort of breaking the rules.

4) Be very gaurded against boxy (perfect squares or rectangles)designs. They don't look good post execution on a t-shirt.
